Danantara Acquires Investment Managers Owned by Mandiri, BNI, and BRI
PT DANANTARA Asset Management has acquired shares in investment management companies owned by several state-owned banks. The investment management firms taken over by Danantara are PT BRI Manajemen Investasi, PT Permodalan Nasional Madani Investment Management—a subsidiary of BRI—PT Mandiri Manajemen Investasi, and PT BNI Asset Management.
According to disclosures on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Danantara purchased 19.5 million shares of BRI Manajemen Investasi, each valued at Rp 1,000. The total transaction value is Rp 975 billion.
“The number of shares is equivalent to 65 per cent of the total placed and paid-up capital issued by BRI MI,” BRI’s management stated in the disclosure, quoted on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.
Danantara then bought 109,999 shares of PNM Investment Management, each share valued at Rp 1 million. This number of shares is equivalent to 99.999 per cent of the total placed and paid-up capital issued by PNM IM. The total purchase transaction value is Rp 345 billion.
Next, Danantara acquired 39,960,000 shares of BNI Asset Management, with each share valued at Rp 1,000. This number of shares is equivalent to 99.9 per cent of the total placed and paid-up capital in BNI AM. The total value of this transaction is Rp 359.64 billion.
Finally, Danantara acquired shares in Mandiri Manajemen Investasi amounting to 1,499 shares, or equivalent to 99.93 per cent of MMI shares owned by Mandiri Sekuritas. The total transaction value is Rp 1.02 trillion.
Danantara’s Chief Investment Officer, Pandu Sjahrir, stated that the acquisition is part of efforts to streamline and expand the institution. “One way is by merging several companies that are actually quite similar,” Pandu told the media at Menara Bank Mega, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 7 April 2026.
