Damaged road in Rempoa

Damaged road in Rempoa

From Neraca

I am depressed to see the condition of the roads in Rempoa. The stretch running from Rempoa to Bintaro has never been properly repaired. The street has eroded at the sides and is full of hastily covered potholes.

The road has become even worse from former diggings of the city water company, who has perfunctorily covered excavations with clay. When it rains, the clay turns to mud.

The road was formerly a village road, which became an alternative shortcut for Ciputat residents traveling to Kebayoran Lama. The increased number of people staying in Ciputat and Rempoa have made a popular alternative of the Rempoa road to beat traveling time.

However, the Tangerang regional office has never paid attention to the condition of the road, which borders Jakarta. The office simply ignores damaged roads, placing the blame on the Jakarta administration. On their part, Jakarta administrators are reluctant to do repairs because it regards roads outside Jakarta's boundaries.

What can be done to attract the regional authorities' attention to our plight? Now that we are celebrating 50 years of independence, is Rempoa Raya not entitled to its share of road repairs ?
