Cyber University Studies Singapore Management University's Learning System Through Edutrip Programme
Cyber University’s Edutrip programme to Singapore and Malaysia officially commenced with an academic visit to Singapore Management University (SMU) on Monday, 9 February 2026. The four-day programme, running from 9 to 12 February 2026, was attended by students and lecturers from the institution.
SMU’s learning system emphasises class discussion, collaborative projects, and constructive academic competition. The university, established in 2000 as Singapore’s third university, focuses on higher education in business and management, with a mission to cultivate entrepreneurial leaders with a broad understanding of economics. SMU’s educational approach is well known for being highly interactive, collaborative, and project-based.
Through the edutrip, Cyber University — positioning itself as The First Fintech University in Indonesia — hopes its students will gain insight into international education standards and enhance their readiness to compete globally.
As part of the broader itinerary, the delegation also visited Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) on Jalan Sultan Ismail, Bandar Wawasan, Kuala Lumpur, to broaden academic perspectives and explore cross-border collaboration opportunities.
Caesar Alvito Bahari, a student from the Information Systems and Technology programme who participated in the edutrip, said the activity provided direct cross-country learning experiences. He noted that the edutrip gave him and fellow students first-hand experience in understanding the global academic environment.
Cyber University operates a Company Learning Programme (CLP) under a 3+1 model, whereby students attend classes for three years and undertake an industry internship for one year. In their sixth semester, students are prepared for placements at companies that have established partnerships with the university.
