Customs says Tiffany & Co bill due end of June 2026
The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) has stated that the customs bill which must be paid by Tiffany & Co, amounting to Rp97.49 billion, will fall due at the end of June 2026.
Director of Communication and Service User Guidance at DJBC, Nirwala Dwi Heryanto, said the audit process for the luxury jewellery company has been completed.
“Yes, it has been audited. That is why it reopened for business yesterday. Because the Minister (Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa) is very supportive of entrepreneurs who wish to operate in a compliant manner,” Nirwala said when met in Jakarta on Tuesday.
As is known, Customs issued a Customs Determination Letter for Rp97.49 billion. This amount consists of administrative sanctions in the form of a fine of Rp78.50 billion and other tax and customs obligations of approximately Rp18.99 billion, covering import duty, value-added tax (VAT), and income tax (PPh).
“The due date is the end of this month,” he stated.
Three Tiffany & Co outlets that were previously sealed have now resumed operations. The seals were removed after the customs audit was completed and there was no longer any need to restrict access to the outlets.
The three outlets are located at Plaza Senayan, Plaza Indonesia, and Pacific Place in Jakarta.
It was previously reported that Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa removed the seal on the Tiffany & Co outlet at Plaza Indonesia after the company declared its willingness to fulfil the customs obligations set by the government.
“The party concerned has committed to complying with all applicable statutory provisions,” Purbaya said.
Tiffany & Co had previously been subjected to sealing action by DJBC in relation to violations concerning the import of undeclared goods and the non-settlement of customs obligations.
Tiffany & Co itself has declared its willingness to fulfil all these obligations, including payment of the administrative sanctions imposed.
