Jakarta – Customs and excise revenue through the end of February 2026 has reached only Rp44.9 trillion, representing a decline of approximately 14.7% compared with the corresponding period last year of Rp52.6 trillion.

This figure amounts to just 13.4% of the Rp336 trillion customs and excise revenue target established in the 2026 State Budget.

“Approximately Rp7 trillion below last year,” said Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara during a State Budget press conference at his Jakarta office on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

The decline in customs and excise receipts has been driven by sharp decreases in two main components: excise tax collection and export duties, both falling by double-digit percentages.

Excise tax receipts totalled only Rp34.4 trillion, declining by 13.3%, driven by production decreases in late 2025, despite an upward production trend in the early part of this year.

Export duties fell dramatically by 48.4% compared with the same period last year, with realisations reaching only Rp2.8 trillion.

The substantial decline in export duty collections has been attributed to falling crude palm oil (CPO) prices, which averaged only US$917 per metric tonne during January–February 2026, compared with US$1,007 in the corresponding period last year.

Import duties, conversely, continued to show growth, albeit modest, increasing by 1.7% to reach Rp7.8 trillion, driven by 16% growth in imports during the first two months of this year.
