The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, reviewed the Bengkulu Provincial Cultural Park during a working visit to Bengkulu. This visit was conducted to check the condition of the facilities and to see the potential for developing arts and cultural activities in the area.

This visit is also part of the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to strengthening the role of cultural spaces as centres of community creativity as well as planned and sustainable arts and cultural destinations.

During his visit, Fadli expressed his appreciation for the existing physical facilities at the Bengkulu Cultural Park complex. According to him, the presence of a closed theatre, an art gallery, a music building, an arts workshop, and other facilities is an important asset to encourage various arts and cultural activities in the province.

“We see great potential here. In terms of facilities, it is quite good, and if it is activated with a planned agenda and support from all parties, it will certainly become more vibrant and have a broad impact on the community,” he said in a written statement, Thursday (February 26, 2026).

Fadli also emphasized the importance of cross-stakeholder collaboration to maximize the potential of the Cultural Park. He said that in addition to scheduled arts programs, the presence of supporting facilities such as coffee shops and local cuisine based on Indonesian Intangible Cultural Heritage can enrich the visitor experience and increase the appeal of this place as an arts and cultural destination.

Fadli said that the Bengkulu Cultural Park regularly receives Special Allocation Funds from the Ministry of Culture each year as a stimulus to strengthen the arts and culture ecosystem in the region. He hopes that these funds will be maximized for local programs, including activities involving artists, art performances, and cultural agendas that attract public interest.

The Bengkulu Provincial Cultural Park is a cultural institution under the management of the Bengkulu Provincial Education and Culture Office. Thus, it is a forum for local artists and cultural practitioners to develop creativity in various fields, including theatre, music, dance, visual arts, and other art activities.

Through various facilities such as a theatre building, exhibition space, and an open-air performance area, the Bengkulu Provincial Cultural Park regularly supports the organization of art performances, exhibitions, and other creative activities in promoting the cultural wealth of Bengkulu.

In conclusion, Fadli hopes that the Bengkulu Provincial Cultural Park will not only be a performance space, but also grow as a centre of attraction for the wider community and a preserver of local cultural creativity.
