Cuba to open embassy in KL
KUALA LUMPUR (AP): Cuba will open an embassy in Malaysia, the
government said yesterday.
Foreign Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi made the announcement
after a meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Roberto Robaina
Gonzales, who is on a five-day visit to Malaysia, according to
the Bernama news agency.
Abdullah did not say when Cuba would open its embassy or
whether Malaysia would open an embassy in Havana.
Cuba currently is represented in Malaysia by its ambassador to
Laos, while the Malaysian ambassador to Washington handles
dealings with Cuba.
