JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Cybercrime Directorate of the Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) has affirmed that the criminal proceedings in the case involving comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono will continue, even though he has undergone a customary hearing in Toraja, South Sulawesi.

The Director of the Cybercrime Directorate of the Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit, Brigadier General Pol Himawan Bayu Aji, stated that investigators are still actively pursuing the case by examining several witnesses and experts.

“Regarding the progress of Pandji’s case, 14 witnesses and 9 experts have been examined. Yesterday, the latest examination involved the administrator of Pandji’s account, to complete the investigation,” said Himawan when met at the National Police Headquarters, Wednesday (25/2/2026).

Regarding the customary hearing that Pandji attended in Toraja, Himawan stated that this is part of the ‘living law’ or customary law practiced in the community.

“All of these actions are concrete steps in accordance with the ‘living law,’ and also in accordance with national law,” he said.

“And this is what we are doing in parallel with the investigation,” he added.

According to Himawan, investigators will thoroughly review the results of further examinations after the customary hearing before drawing final conclusions in this case.

“We will see what the outcome is after further examinations following his participation in the customary hearing in Toraja,” he said.

Himawan assured that, even though the customary hearing has been completed, the criminal proceedings will continue.

Currently, Pandji’s status is still as a witness.

He added that Pandji has been previously examined and there is a possibility that he will be called in for further examination.

“There is a possibility that he will be examined again,” said Himawan.

In addition, investigators are also open to examining parties involved in the implementation of the customary court in Toraja if needed in the investigation process.
