Cranberries show postponed
JAKARTA (JP): The Cranberries, a popular Irish band, have postponed their Jakarta concert scheduled for June 28 due to an injury suffered by the lead singer Dolores O'Riordan.
According to a statement made available to The Jakarta Post, the singer was in an accident during the band's tour of Australia.
The singer suffered a torn knee ligament which made it difficult for her to stand by the end of a show on June 5 in Canberra.
O'Riordan had to go back to London to undergo an extensive physical examination.
The release stated that the band plans to continue its Free to Decide World Tour '96-'97 and that the management will reschedule the tour as soon as it gets O'Riordan's medical results.
The group was scheduled to perform in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Singapore this month after performances in the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.
In Jakarta the group was scheduled to perform at the Senayan Indoor Tennis Stadium in Central Jakarta. (yns)
