Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs: Government Buildings in Nusantara Capital City Ready to Be Occupied
Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Djamari Chaniago, said that government buildings in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), East Kalimantan, have met the eligibility standards to be occupied. He made the remarks after an on-site review of development progress in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, on Tuesday (3 March). He noted that facilities in IKN, including hospitals, schools, markets and an airport, are already in place. “The buildings have met the standards of a decent living; hopefully in the near future perhaps the ministry with its personnel is ready, and some may already be able to move in and be present here,” he said in a written statement on Wednesday (4 March). The visit by Djamari was connected to the Polkam Ministry’s task of supporting the coordination of building a defence and security system in IKN, including coordination of digital infrastructure development and cybersecurity. “Nusantara Capital City will be a source of pride for all of us, with a wide area, and here it will become a well-run seat of government supported by a modern defence and security system for the nation’s interests,” he added. Djamari also expressed pride and gratitude to see the work of the nation’s people in IKN. He hopes the presence of IKN will also benefit the East Kalimantan provincial government. “I feel fortunate and proud to come here to see Nusantara Capital City, accompanied by the Governor and the Head of the IKN Authority; I have received a lot of information about the development and continuation of the Nusantara City,” he said.
