Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto stated that Indonesia’s economic growth of 5.61 percent in the first quarter of 2024 was the highest among several G20 countries that have released their data. “Our growth of 5.61 percent is above that of several G20 countries,” Airlangga said during a press conference at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy in Jakarta on Tuesday. He explained that the comparison was made with countries that have already announced their economic performance for the first quarter of 2024. “Among the countries that have released their figures, including China, Singapore, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, we have the highest,” he said. According to him, this achievement shows that Indonesia’s economy continues to grow well amid global dynamics that are still seeking a new balance. He noted that the growth was driven by various policies prepared by the government, particularly to maintain consumption momentum during Eid al-Fitr. “This growth is one that the government has prepared through various policies, especially in connection with the Eid al-Fitr holiday,” he added.
