TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Cooperation between Chinese and Indonesian companies is still limited. “Normally, only big companies collaborate with Chinese companies,” said the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce’s (Kadin) ad interim Adi Putra Tahir, yesterday.

Adi said most Indonesian businessmen collaborating with Chinese businessmen can speak Mandarin. “So they trust each other more,” he said. According to Chinese Ambassador Zhang Qiyue,, there are 700 Chinese companies operating in Indonesia.

As Chinese companies are investing in Indonesia more aggressively, Adi said, Kadin has established a new special task force that deals with trade and industry relations with China.
