Controversial police bill

From Neraca

In the end, the House of Representatives (DPR) has decided to delay the enactment of the bill on the National Police. The reason is that the bill has received a lot of criticism. It's very strange, considering that the bill has been discussed for ten months.

For me, this postponement reflects the fact that some legislators are not professional. A ten-month time frame should be enough to accommodate inputs from the community. Why hasn't such a time period been put to better use so that the DPR's Special Committee will not object to the bill's contents and materials?

What's more amazing is that the objection to the enactment comes from the legislative circle itself, namely the faction of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle. If they have an objection, they can discuss it in their internal meetings. Or doesn't the mechanism for internal meetings held by the faction run well?
