Controller Sells 659 Million Shares in MNC Energy Investments (IATA), What's Happening?
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The controller of PT MNC Energy Investments Tbk (IATA), namely PT MNC Asia Holding Tbk (BHIT), has sold 659 million (5.68%) shares of IATA at an average price of Rp96 per share, bringing the total value of the transaction to Rp63 billion. Citing a disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) on Friday (6 March 2026), the sale was part of the Company’s strategic plans. The transaction was conducted between 27 January and 3 March 2026. Following this sale, BHIT’s ownership in IATA stood at 10.97%.
Previously, BHIT also sold 1.68 billion (5.37%) shares of IATA at Rp88 per share, for a total of Rp148 billion. That transaction took place on 13 November 2025, aimed at business development with a strategic partner. After the sale, BHIT’s ownership in IATA rose to 18.84%.
These share disposals reduced BHIT’s total IATA holdings to 5.89 billion shares, or 18.84% stake. Previously, BHIT controlled 7.57 billion shares (24.21%). Thus, the traded portion amounted to 5.37%.
BHIT is the direct controller of IATA. Citing the monthly register of securities holders ending 31 October 2025, BHIT held 24.21% or 7.57 billion shares in that month. A month earlier, BHIT had maintained the same shareholding and percentage in IATA.
Additionally, IATA is also controlled by PT Karya Pacific. As of 31 October 2025, the company held 12.31 billion shares or 38.39%. However, that company is not the controller of IATA.
Meanwhile, BHIT remains controlled by HT Investment Development, based in the British Virgin Islands. This company held 13.23 billion shares or 15.85%. BHIT is then controlled by the controller of PT Bhakti Panjiwira with 5.26 billion shares (6.23%). Finally, by magnate Hary Tanoesoedibjo with 2.68 billion shares (3.22%).
The remainder of BHIT is held by a Singaporean bank, DBS Bank Ltd S/A, with 8.32 billion shares. Its stake in BHIT stands at 9.96%.
