Contraflow at Toll Road KM 55-70 Implemented Tonight, National One-Way Wednesday Afternoon
The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) has implemented several traffic management measures to anticipate the increased vehicle volume during the Lebaran exodus. Contraflow has been applied on the toll road from kilometre (KM) 55 to 70 heading towards Trans Java this evening.
“Tonight, from kilometre 55 to 70, we are implementing contraflow to manage the flow towards Trans Java,” said Inspector General Agus at the Command Centre of the Jakarta-to-Surabaya (PJR) Korlantas Polri at KM 29 Cikarang, West Java, on Tuesday (17 March 2026).
Earlier in the afternoon, a one-way section had already been implemented from KM 70 to 263 on the Trans Java toll road. Inspector General Agus emphasised that authorities will continue to evaluate vehicle volume developments.
“Whether there will be peak traffic flow tonight, we will coordinate with the Jasa Marga Director, and if there is another surge in traffic, we may extend the one-way implementation. However, if it subsides, we will continue to assess,” he said.
Vehicle volume has reportedly continued to increase. Inspector General Agus stated that the national one-way system will be implemented tomorrow, scheduled to commence at 12:00 WIB.
“We can monitor it, and we have been monitoring that it is quite controlled and traffic surges are increasing as the evening progresses,” he said.
“So, one-way will be like this. Clearly, tomorrow, possibly led by the Minister of Transportation, a flag-off ceremony for the national one-way system for the Lebaran exodus will be conducted at 12:00,” he added.
Operation Ketupat 2026 is scheduled to last two weeks, running from 13 to 25 March 2026. It is predicted that 143.9 million journeys will be made by the public during this year’s Lebaran exodus.
