JAKARTA - The Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK), Suhartoyo, stated that the application from Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, to become an interested party in the material examination of the Military Court Law had already been discussed in the Judges’ Deliberation Meeting (RPH). “When we responded yesterday, it was already the result of the RPH regarding the MK’s position on Andrie Yunus’s application,” Suhartoyo said during a statement following the launch of the book “Independence of Judicial Power” at the MK Building in Jakarta on Friday (17/4/2026). In the continuation hearing for case number 260/PUU-XXIII/2025, Suhartoyo announced that the MK could not accept Andrie Yunus’s application because the stage of hearing statements from interested parties had already passed. The MK’s stance was announced by Suhartoyo during the continuation hearing held at the MK Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (14/4/2026). It is known that Andrie’s application was submitted on Tuesday, close to the time the hearing was held. At that time, the material examination filed by Lenny Damanik and Eva Meliani Br Pasaribu had already entered the agenda for hearing expert testimonies. Suhartoyo explained that Andrie Yunus’s application to become an interested party could not be accepted because the moment for hearing statements from interested parties had passed. “Based on the provisions of the existing Constitutional Court Regulations, the said application has already passed the deadline and would cause further delays because it would require hearing Andrie Yunus’s statement if the application were accepted,” said Suhartoyo. “However, his statement can be submitted as part of ad informandum and will also be considered by the Panel of Judges when making the decision,” Suhartoyo added.
