Congress library orders books
MEDAN, North Sumatra: The U.S. Library of Congress in Washington D.C., has ordered copies of the book, "The North Sumatran Press Struggle Against The Indonesian Communist Movement", written by journalist Muhammad TWA.
Yayasan Pelestarian Fakta Perjuangan Kemerdekaan, the publisher of the book, said here Wednesday the 262-page book told the struggle of the North Sumatran press since the early years of the Indonesian "awakening", the movement toward independence, and the fight against communism.
The book, published in 1996, is the third work by Muhammad TWA to be acquired by the U.S. Library of Congress, according to Antara.
The two others are "The Struggle of North Sumatran People in Pictures" and "The History of Film and Theater in North Sumatra".
