Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk, via its Gojek service, is adjusting the revenue-sharing model for online motorcycle taxi drivers. Under the new rule, drivers will receive 92% of every GoRide trip, with the platform’s take reduced to 8%.

The policy was announced by Chief Executive Officer Hans Patuwo as support for Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transportation Workers, signed by President Prabowo Subianto.

“We welcome the government’s direction to create a fairer and more sustainable digital transportation ecosystem,” Hans said at a press conference at GoTo’s office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.

Hans stressed that Gojek would implement the government’s directives on the new revenue share for online transport drivers.

“Firstly, Gojek will implement the President’s directives related to Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026. We are committed to adjusting the revenue-sharing scheme so that 92 percent of every GoRide trip will be the drivers’ entitlement. This is a substantial change for us,” he said.

He acknowledged that the policy would reduce the company’s revenue from the GoRide service. Nevertheless, Gojek is taking the move as a long-term investment.

“Gojek’s revenue from the GoRide service, which has long been known by the name Gojek, will fall. However, we undertake this with full conviction that this is the right thing to do and as a long-term investment for a healthier and better future for all stakeholders,” he asserted.

On the other hand, Gojek ensures consumer fares will not change, particularly for the GoRide Regular service, which is currently the most-used.

“There are two GoRide services. The most-used service currently is GoRide Regular. Therefore, we will ensure that there is no change in the price paid by consumers for the GoRide Regular service,” he explained.

He said the move aims to keep order volumes steady so total driver earnings can rise sustainably.

“With this, we hope order volumes from consumers will stay steady and sustainable, and total earnings for driver partners can also improve,” he added.

Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto announced that he had signed Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transport Workers during May Day celebrations on 1 May.

The regulation covers various protections for online transport drivers, from workplace accident insurance to a larger share of revenue for drivers.

“I have signed Presidential Regulation No. 27 on the Protection of Online Transport Workers. As I said earlier, there will be work accident insurance and coverage under BPJS Kesehatan, health insurance,” Prabowo said.

“Also, the revenue share for drivers—previously 80%—will now be at least 92% for drivers,” he added.

Partner welfare programme

Gojek also unveiled a driver-partner appreciation programme with the 4 Pillars of Partner Protection & Welfare, and 7 New Partner Appreciation Programmes.

The 4 Pillars of Protection & Welfare for Partners include BPJS Kesehatan & BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, United Partner Businesses, Partner Job Exchange, and Raya Holiday Bonus.

The 7 New Partner Appreciation Programmes include Partner Legend, Pioneer Partner, Undergraduate Scholarship, School Equipment Packages, Umrah, Safe & Comfortable Rest Places, and Free Open Spaces.
