Condition of Umrah Pilgrims in the Holy Land as US-Iran Conflict Erupts in the Middle East
Travel agency MBS Travel has reported on the condition of pilgrims following escalating conflict in the Middle East region. Deputy Chief Executive Officer Hj Siti Nani Wahidah stated that all umrah pilgrims utilising the agency’s services are in good condition.
“I happen to be in Mecca at present, and the current situation in Mecca is safe and manageable. Naturally there is some concern, but our travel agency provides reassurance and calms the pilgrims because they are focused on their worship. If we add panic to the situation, pilgrims will not be able to concentrate on their prayers,” Siti Nani told Republika on Monday (2 March 2026).
She reported that flight operations for umrah pilgrims departing from Cimahi have encountered no disruptions and remain on schedule. This is because MBS Travel operates direct flights from Jakarta to Saudi Arabia. Flights that have been affected by escalation in the Middle East region are those requiring transit stops.
Currently, approximately 175 pilgrims are already in Saudi Arabia performing umrah. A further 35 pilgrims are scheduled to depart from Indonesia to Saudi Arabia on Monday evening (2 March 2026).
“So for direct flights, we are currently on schedule. I just arrived last night with 30 pilgrims and alhamdulillah we are still on schedule,” said Siti Nani.
Regarding return flight schedules, she stated that operations continue according to the planned timetable. However, the travel agency maintains continuous communication with airlines. “So far everything is on schedule, with no changes or cancellations from the airline. God willing, everything remains safe and we are able to proceed,” Siti Nani stated.
