Comprehensive Analysis of Indonesia's Capital Market Potential and Direction in Market Outlook 2026
Jakarta – Entering a new phase of financial market dynamics, investors face a combination of global challenges, domestic policy direction, and increasingly complex transformations in the financial industry’s structure.
For this reason, investors must be able to read market direction more precisely based on data and in line with the context of domestic policies and national economic direction. This is especially important following structural changes in the market and the movement of the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG).
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has prepared a series of strategic capital market programmes throughout 2026 to strengthen investor confidence, improve the quality of listed companies, and deepen the national financial market.
The first strategic programme focuses on improving the quality of listed companies. This includes refining policies on increasing free float, including the implementation of continuous free float mechanisms.
Additionally, the OJK is also promoting the strengthening of ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) policies and clearer exit policies. The second strategic programme is the expansion of the investor base, both domestic and foreign.
At the same time, the protection of retail investors remains a priority, including through the strengthening of market conduct and supervision of financial influencers (finfluencers) who increasingly play a role in shaping market perception.
