The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, through the Indonesian Hajj Health Clinic (KKHI) in the Makkah Working Area, has reported a significant decrease in the number of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims hospitalised after the peak pilgrimage rituals in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna) compared to the previous year. Acting Head of the Hajj Health Centre at the Ministry of Hajj, Dani Pramudya, stated that the current number of pilgrims undergoing treatment is approximately 210. This figure is lower than the same period last year, which recorded more than 300 patients. “Currently, after Armuzna, we are treating almost 210 pilgrims. Last year it was around 300 pilgrims. The cause last year was possibly a lack of istithaah. But now, because we have tightened the istithaah requirements, Alhamdulillah, the numbers have decreased,” Dani Pramudya told the Hajj Media Centre team in Aziziyah, Makkah, on Thursday. According to Dani, fatigue is the main reason pilgrims require treatment after completing the Hajj rituals, particularly during the Armuzna period. Aside from fatigue, some pilgrims being treated also have comorbidities that they brought from their home regions. “The primary factor is indeed fatigue after Armuzna; that accounts for the most cases. This is compounded by comorbidities brought from their home areas,” he stated.
