Companies in Tasikmalaya Must Pay Eid Holiday Allowance by H-7 Before Eid
Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri, all companies in Tasikmalaya City are required to pay holiday allowances (THR) no later than seven days before Eid. The allowance must be paid in full without instalments and must comply with wage regulations.
According to Dedi Zulfikar, Industrial Relations Mediator at the Tasikmalaya City Labour Department (Disnaker), companies in the region must provide Eid holiday allowances to their employees, with payment required no later than H-7 before the religious holiday. The THR cannot be paid in instalments.
“Following the circular from the relevant ministry regarding the payment of Holiday Allowances (THR) for Ramadan 1447 Hijri, the Tasikmalaya City Labour Department’s Industrial Relations Division and the City Wages Council have been monitoring several companies. All companies must comply with Government Regulation No. 36 of 2021 concerning wages,” Zulfikar stated on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.
According to him, companies are obligated to pay holiday allowances in accordance with labour regulations and formal companies with more than 10 registered workers. Key provisions in the circular include that religious holiday allowances are granted to workers with a continuous service period of one month or more.
“Religious holiday allowances must be paid no later than H-7 before the religious holiday and must be paid by employers in full without instalments. However, failure to pay will result in sanctions; non-payment can result in penalties of up to 5 per cent and all matters will be referred to worker associations, including Apindo and labour unions,” he explained.
According to Dedi, by the 12th day of Ramadan, no complaints had been received, and the payment deadline for THR in his region still has considerable time remaining, although the Labour Department has already conducted outreach to all registered companies. However, the number of companies required to pay THR in Tasikmalaya City totals 722 companies with 173,000 workers.
“The minimum THR payment is one month’s wages for workers who have worked for at least one year, and for those who have not yet worked one year, it is calculated proportionally. For example, if someone has only worked six months, it is calculated as six months times 12 divided by 12 times the wage. For non-formal companies such as SMEs, payment is made according to agreement, and for SPPG kitchen programmes within the government MBG programme, payment follows government regulations if the status is a limited company,” he explained.
Dedi revealed that in accordance with the Tasikmalaya City Labour Department’s circular, a Command Post Task Force (Posko Satgas) for Labour Services, Consultation and Law Enforcement regarding Religious Holiday Allowances for 2026 has been established to receive complaints should workers’ companies fail to pay THR in accordance with regulations.
“We work with company supervisors to verify whether companies are legally registered. Companies that fail to pay THR face administrative sanctions, warnings, and even business permit revocation,” he concluded.
