Jakarta — Abidin Fikri, Vice Chairman of Commission VIII of Indonesia’s House of Representatives, has stated that the disbursement of Teacher Professional Allowances (TPG) to Islamic school (madrasah) teachers ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah demonstrates the government’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of approximately 405,438 madrasah teachers through accelerated data verification.

According to Fikri, teacher welfare entitlements must be fulfilled promptly to prevent social unrest ahead of the Eid holiday. “Timely payment before Eid al-Fitr demonstrates the Ministry of Religion’s responsiveness to parliamentary and teacher aspirations, as educators have long depended on meagre honoraria,” Fikri stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He assessed that the achievement not only alleviates teachers’ financial burden ahead of the religious holiday but also strengthens public confidence in state budget management within the religious education sector. Consequently, he urged the Ministry of Religion to maintain momentum for subsequent disbursement phases, in line with Commission VIII oversight.

Furthermore, Fikri noted that TPG from the Ministry of Religion in 2026 will be extended not only to Islamic school teachers and Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instructors but also to Christian, Catholic, Hindu, and Buddhist religious education teachers. “Commission VIII will continue to conduct careful oversight of TPG payment implementation for religious education and madrasah teachers by the Ministry of Religion,” he stated.

Earlier, the Ministry of Religion confirmed that TPG for madrasah teachers will be disbursed in phases, coinciding with accelerated issuance of Eligibility Analysis Determination Letters (SKAKPT) for teachers meeting administrative requirements. “In accordance with the Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar’s directive, we are continuously accelerating the SKAKPT issuance process so that madrasah teachers’ entitlements can be received promptly,” stated Amien Suyitno, Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religion.

Based on SKAKPT processing data from 2 and 4 March 2026, of the total 405,438 madrasah teachers with registered teacher numbers (NRG), 246,449 SKAKPTs have been issued, including 32,081 teachers who completed the 2025 Teacher Professional Education programme. Approximately 158,989 other teachers remain in administrative finalisation processes for SKAKPT issuance in subsequent phases.
