Commission III to Summon Prosecutors from Batam and Mataram, to Discuss the Sea Dragon Crew Member and University Student Death Cases
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Commission III of the DPR RI will summon a number of law enforcement officials to explain the handling of the drug smuggling case involving a crew member (ABK) of the Sea Dragon, and the case of the death of a student from the University of Mataram on Nipah Beach, North Lombok.
The Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, Habiburokhman, said that the summons was one of the conclusions of a public hearing (RDPU) with the families of the Sea Dragon crew member and the family of the accused in the student death case on Thursday (27/2/2026).
“Commission III of the DPR RI will summon the Chief of Police of North Lombok and the Head of the Mataram District Attorney’s Office for case number 12/Pid.B/2026/PN Mtr in order to provide the clearest possible explanation regarding the case being handled,” said Habiburokhman while reading the conclusions of the meeting.
“Commission III of the DPR RI will summon investigators from the BNN (National Narcotics Agency) and the Head of the Batam District Attorney’s Office for case number 863/Pid.Sus/2025/PN Btm in order to provide the clearest possible explanation regarding the case being handled,” said Habiburokhman.
In the same conclusion, Commission III requested that the Deputy Attorney General for Supervision reprimand and examine the public prosecutors from the Batam District Attorney’s Office to be more careful in conveying opinions to the public.
Commission III also requested that the Judicial Commission conduct supervision of the handling of both cases in accordance with the provisions of the law.
In addition, the DPR reaffirmed the recommendations of the Commission III meeting on February 23, 2026, that the handling of the Sea Dragon crew member case, Fandi Ramadhan, should apply the principles of justice in Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
In the case of the student’s death in Lombok, the family of the accused, Radiet Adiansyah alias Radit, who were accompanied by lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea, felt that the prosecutor’s indictment did not have a strong basis for evidence.
“We have provided a summary specifically about the murder in Lombok. So the essence of the case is that it is not at all acceptable from a legal point of view,” said Hotman.
He emphasised that there were no witnesses who directly saw the alleged murder.
Meanwhile, the mother of the accused, Makiyati, asked Commission III for attention because she believes her son is innocent.
