Commission II DPRD to Summon Education Office After PPPK Teachers Unpaid for 4 Months
Commission II of the Parepare City DPRD, South Sulawesi, will summon the Head of the Education Office (Disdik) to explain the reasons behind 139 part-time Pegawai Pemerintah dengan Perjanjian Kerja (PPPK) teachers not being paid for the last four months.
“Yes, I have confirmed with colleagues in Commission II to immediately summon the Education Office regarding the reasons for the non-payment of honorer PPPK salaries,” said Deputy Chairman of Commission II DPRD Parepare, Sappe, to CNNIndonesia.com on Friday (24/4).
According to Sappe, the summoning of the Parepare Education Office Head is to hear directly the reasons and problems faced, resulting in more than a hundred PPPK teachers not being paid for four months.
“So, we will summon the Education Office to hear those reasons. Because this has already entered the DPRD’s recommendation to the mayor,” he said.
When contacted, Sappe admitted to also confirming the non-payment for at least the last four months with one of the part-time PPPK teachers.
“Based on the information I confirmed earlier with one teacher, they haven’t received it yet,” he revealed.
According to him, the summoning of the education office head will take place next week. So far, he added, if it’s related to the financial budget, his side assesses it as fine.
“If we’re talking about the financial condition, it’s fine. Insyaallah, if not Monday, then Tuesday,” he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Parepare Education Office, Dede Harirusman, explained that the delay in paying part-time PPPK is due to the status change to ASN. Previously, when they were still honorer, the teachers were initially funded by Bantuan Operasional Sekolah (BOS) funds.
“The part-time PPPK who were initially honorer in 2025 were funded by BOS; the status change to ASN already has a circular letter [surat edaran] relaxing the use of BOS funds for payment,” said Dede when confirmed by CNNIndonesia.com.
Currently, said Dede, his side has reported to the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) regarding the delay in paying salaries to hundreds of those honorer.
“We have reported to Kemendikdasmen and are currently waiting for a response. At the moment, we continue to confirm with the centre,” he stated.
Previously, it was reported that around 139 part-time PPPK teachers in Parepare City have not received salaries for four months.
A representative of the part-time PPPK teachers, Amran, expressed disappointment over the uncertainty of their salaries. According to him, information regarding the disbursement of their salaries has been very unclear so far.
“We never get clear information, either verbally or in official writing. This news is just floating among us as teachers. This has been going on for four months (unpaid),” said Amran at a hearing meeting (RDP) in the Commission I DPRD Parepare room, quoted by detikcom, on Monday (20/4).
He admitted that his side has tried to communicate with the parties related to their salaries. He said the teachers were only asked to be patient for the last four months.
“We chat, we call, the answer is just ‘wait, be patient’. We need to convey that these four months are not four days; this is a very long time for us. Our hope going forward, if there is a contract extension, we are budgeted through the budget like other OPDs. We no longer hope for payment from BOS funds because the guidelines are very complicated,” he said.
In the same meeting, Dede, as Acting Head of Education and Culture, admitted that according to the rules, BOS funds cannot be used to pay salaries for those with ASN status.
“Indeed, in the guidelines issued in February regarding the management of BOS funds, it prohibits providing remuneration funding to those (with ASN status). That’s where our initial obstacle began,” said Dede in that meeting.
The meeting was attended by six part-time PPPK teachers, the Acting Head of Education and Culture of Parepare, Acting Head of BKD Parepare, up to the Head of BKPSDM Parepare.
