Comfortable Journeys on Trans-Java Toll Road with 42 Rest Areas Available
KARAWANG, KOMPAS.com — The increasingly connected Trans-Java Toll Road network is making Lebaran holiday travel more efficient and comfortable. This is certainly supported by the availability of rest areas throughout the highway.
To assess the readiness of the Trans-Java Toll Road network, Kompas.com’s reporting team visited the Cikampek Utama (Cikatama) Monitoring Post in Cikampek, Karawang, West Java on Monday, 9 March 2026.
Upon arrival at the Cikatama Monitoring Post, the team met with Vice President Corporate Secretary of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paalo.
“Where are the functional rest areas? They are positioned at the points we identified as fatigue locations for motorists, namely at KM 444 and KM 439,” said Paalo to the reporting team.
Although only functional facilities, Paalo assured that the rest areas are fully equipped, including the provision of public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) already distributed across 40 locations with a total of 155 SPKLU units.
Paalo also assured that all road maintenance managed by PT JTT will be completed by H-10 Lebaran.
“So everything must be finished by 10 March at the latest,” said Paalo.
Nevertheless, Paalo emphasised that toll road users need not worry as there will be staff on duty 24 hours a day.
This was also demonstrated during the reporting team’s direct observation while passing through the Cikatama Toll Gate (GT). Several additional staff members wearing white uniforms and orange safety vests were on duty and ready to assist toll road users.
Jasa Marga anticipates that vehicle volume during this year’s Lebaran holiday period will increase significantly.
Rivan Achmad Purwantono, Director General of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, stated that based on calculations from H-10 to H+10 Lebaran, the number of vehicles expected to pass through is projected to reach 3.5 million units.
“In this forecast from H-10 to H+10, an estimated 3.5 million vehicles will pass through. This means that compared to normal conditions, there is growth or an increase of around 17 percent, or 1.8 percent between last year’s Lebaran and this year’s,” he said when met at the Jasa Marga Tollroad Command Centre (JMTC), Jatiasih, Bekasi.
