Comfortable Homecoming with SOEs and Danantara 2026: TelkomGroup Dispatches Thousands of Travellers
Jakarta — Marking the peak of the homecoming season and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriyah, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has organised a Free Homecoming Programme with TelkomGroup 2026, dispatching 1,924 travellers from Jakarta to various destinations across Java and Sumatra. The programme forms part of the broader “Safe and Compassionate Homecoming” initiative led by state-owned enterprises and Danantara. A formal ceremony releasing participants took place at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta, on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
The event was attended by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), Head of the State-Owned Enterprise Regulatory Board (BP BUMN) and Director of Operations Danantara Dony Oskaria, Danantara Stakeholders Management Director Rohan Hafas, Deputy Head of BP BUMN Tedi Bharata, and senior executives from various state-owned enterprises.
Coordinating Minister AHY highlighted that the high mobility of citizens during the Eid period reflects the strength of homecoming traditions. According to a Ministry of Transport survey, approximately 143.9 million journeys are expected throughout Indonesia this year. The government continues to ensure infrastructure readiness and various transport modes so that citizens’ travel is safe, comfortable, and smooth.
“We also appreciate the initiative of BP BUMN, Danantara, and participating state-owned enterprises in the free homecoming programme, which helps reduce private vehicle usage, particularly motorcycles, and supports more orderly homecoming travel for the public,” said Coordinating Minister AHY.
Simultaneously, TelkomGroup held a separate dispatch ceremony for homecoming programme participants at Satria Mandala Museum, Jakarta. This year, TelkomGroup has prepared 27 environmentally-friendly bus fleets, comprising 15 Telkomsel buses, 10 Telkomsel Poin buses, and two Telkom Solution-Indibiz buses, together with three ocean vessels to transport travellers to various destinations including Tasikmalaya, Magelang, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Wonosari, Semarang, Ponorogo, Surabaya, and Malang on Java, as well as Lampung and Palembang on Sumatra.
All travel arrangements are organised in a coordinated manner to prioritise participant comfort and safety throughout the journey. Beyond providing public convenience, the use of environmentally-friendly bus fleets in this programme represents TelkomGroup’s concrete step towards promoting more efficient, low-emission travel, consistent with the company’s sustainability principles.
Through this initiative, TelkomGroup hopes the homecoming programme will deliver not only social benefits to participants but also positive environmental impact.
Telkom Managing Director Dian Siswarini stated that the Eid season is invariably accompanied by increased public mobility and communication activity. TelkomGroup ensures network and service readiness so that people remain connected smoothly amid rising mobility and digital demands.
“We have increased network capacity, positioned mobile base stations at strategic points along homecoming routes, and established standby posts supported by over 13,700 personnel nationwide,” said Dian.
Through this SOE-coordinated homecoming programme, she said, TelkomGroup wishes to contribute towards safe and comfortable travel and ensure travellers reach their hometowns safely to celebrate Eid with joy.
This year’s Free Homecoming Programme with TelkomGroup involves participants comprising customers, micro and small business operators, partners, and members of the public who registered through the official TelkomGroup homecoming programme portal. Participants receive complimentary transport using specially-prepared fleets, along with various travel support such as goodie bags containing essential travel items, merchandise, and pocket money.
To ensure telecommunications service quality remains optimal during the Eid holiday period, TelkomGroup also ensures service and digital infrastructure readiness. Multiple measures have been implemented, ranging from network capacity strengthening to reach 60.7 Tbps, intensive traffic monitoring, and establishment of 22 integrated TelkomGroup Emergency Posts supported by over 13,700 personnel operating 24/7 across all Indonesian regions.
These efforts ensure digital connectivity services remain reliable amid increased mobility, enabling people to remain constantly connected. Beyond transport modes and digital telecommunications strengthening, TelkomGroup on this occasion has also distributed Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance from the Telkomsel Poin programme.
Previously, Telkom had distributed assistance nationwide through the Telkom Berbagi programme, including technology and internet connectivity support for 50 Islamic schools, conventional schools, and Islamic boarding schools, together with welfare assistance for 1,000 orphaned children, 1,000 underprivileged community members and persons with disabilities, totalling 2 billion rupiah in value.
The various measures undertaken by TelkomGroup, ranging from network readiness, free homecoming programme organisation to assistance distribution, are expected to reinforce the role of state-owned enterprises, particularly TelkomGroup, in delivering maximum benefits through its best services to customers and the broader public.
“On behalf of TelkomGroup’s executive board and extended family, I wish all a blessed Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriyah. Please forgive any shortcomings, and may all efforts and hard work undertaken pave a righteous path and bring blessings to us all,” Dian concluded.
