Coca-Cola's business tour

JAKARTA (JP): Sixty international fund managers, stockbrokers and business analysts began a four-day tour yesterday to the sites of the Indonesian operations of the Australia-based Coca- Cola Amatil.

Coca-Cola Amatil announced that the tour, which will move to Surabaya and end in Denpasar, Bali, on June 28, will include a detailed review of all aspects of the company's Indonesian operations -- production, distribution, consumer relations and customer marketing.

Members of the touring group, drawn from Australia, the United States, Europe and South East Asia, will have the opportunity to hear addresses from key government ministers, including Minister for Investment Sanyoto Sastrowardoyo and Minister of Industry and Trade Tunky Ariwibowo.

Coca-Cola was first marketed in Indonesia in 1927 and Coca- Cola Amatil, one of the world's largest Coca-Cola bottling companies with operations in 16 countries, entered the Indonesian market in 1992.

The company now has 10 production plants and 7,000 employees in Indonesia.(hen)
