Co-op's funds mishandled
Co-op's funds mishandled
From Media Indonesia
I caution the Lampung cooperatives center, as the umbrella organization for village cooperatives, not to allow the KUD HK cooperative of Kasui, North Lampung, access to the clove fee funds for 1991 and 1992, as I suspect the chairman of that cooperative may plan to request, if he has not already done so.
I hope the Lampung cooperatives center, as the official authority overseeing cooperatives, also will refrain from recommending any disbursement of funds to that cooperative.
As a member of the cooperative's board, I wish to point out that there have been several irregularities in the management of the cooperative that need addressing.
I hope the Lampung cooperatives center will check into the cooperative's finances and present management status.
Should the center think that the funds must be released, I would suggest that the money be disbursed as aid for backward villages in Kasui district, rather than releasing it into the hands of the current chairman. The disbursement to the populace could be done under the government's nationwide program to allay poverty in backward villages throughout the country.
