Clean Water Pipe Washed Away in Banjar Tegeha, 951 Households Affected
Clean water supply pipes in Banjar Tegeha Village, Banjar Sub-district, Buleleng Regency, Bali, were washed away by a river overflow following heavy rainfall on Friday night, 6 March. As a result, hundreds of households across three dusuns experienced disruptions to their clean water supply.
Gede Suyasa, Acting Head of BPBD Buleleng, said the heavy rains that battered the area caused the river discharge to rise and overflow, washing away residents’ clean water supply pipes.
‘The quite heavy rainfall caused the river to overflow and wash away the clean water supply pipes that have been feeding several dusuns in Banjar Tegeha Village,’ Suyasa said on Saturday (7 March 2026).
The damaged pipes affected 951 households spread across three dusuns. The breakdown: Dusun Abian 252 households, Dusun Tengah 274 households, and Dusun Tangep 425 households.
In response, the Buleleng Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) through the Quick Response Team (TRC) Regu III immediately went to the scene to help meet residents’ clean water needs.
Officials placed three profile tanks as temporary water storage, namely two units with a capacity of 5,300 litres and one unit with a capacity of 3,300 litres.
Additionally, BPBD distributed 20,000 litres of clean water to affected residents.
‘TRC Regu III immediately distributed 20,000 litres of clean water to assist the needs of the affected community,’ Suyasa said.
He added that clean water distribution would continue for the time being until the clean water pipeline network can be repaired.
‘For now we will continue to distribute clean water at the disaster site, and distribution points may be added if necessary,’ he concluded.
