City to get new police spokesman

JAKARTA (JP): City Police spokesman Lt. Col. Bambang Haryoko will be replaced by Lt. Col. Bambang Permantoro, a senior staff member of the Police School for Middle Ranking Officers, next week.

Bambang Haryoko, who has been the police spokesman for only seven months, will study for one year at the Police School for Senior Officers in Lembang, West Java.

His successor was once a secretary to the city police spokesman.

"I bet that the press people will face tough days ahead with the new officer," a senior reporter at the City Police headquarters predicted. (bsr)
