Cirebon hospital hikes autopsy fee

CIREBON, West Java: Questions are being raised at the Gunungjati regional public hospital over the price being charged for autopsies which has jumped from Rp 7,800 to Rp 90,000.

As reported by Antara, the price hike is being done in accordance with a letter issued by the hospital's director. The increase has yet to obtain the approval of the provincial legislature, the agency reported further.

People have complained that besides the hefty price increase, an additional fee of Rp 5,000 is levied for releasing the body from the autopsy room and Rp 15,000 a day for cold storage. (mds)
