JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (BNGA) recorded a consolidated pre-tax profit (unaudited) of Rp 2.3 trillion in the first quarter of 2026. This figure represents a 4.5 percent year-on-year growth compared to Rp 2.2 trillion in the same period the previous year. The profit generated earnings per share of Rp 70.20. This net profit was supported by loan disbursements or financing amounting to Rp 235.1 trillion in the same period. BNGA recorded the highest growth from corporate banking at 4.8 percent year-on-year, followed by the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) segment at 1.2 percent year-on-year, and Consumer Banking at 0.2 percent year-on-year. Retail loan or financing growth was primarily driven by an increase in Car Ownership Credit (KPM) of 4.0 percent year-on-year. Asset quality remains well-maintained, with the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio below the industry average, and the cost of credit (COC) remaining below 1 percent. CIMB Niaga’s President Director and CEO, Lani Darmawan, stated that BNGA’s performance in the first quarter of 2026 was driven by strong revenue performance, solid fee-based income growth, and healthy business fundamentals. “This achievement was supported by disciplined cost management, as well as selective credit growth backed by strong current account savings account (CASA) funding, achieving the highest CASA ratio of 73.9 percent, thereby strengthening our ability to maintain margins,” she said in an official statement on Monday (4/5/2026). She added that CIMB Niaga maintains good capitalisation and liquidity positions, with a capital adequacy ratio (CAR) and loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR) of 25.3 percent and 89.2 percent, respectively. Furthermore, BNGA’s total consolidated assets amounted to Rp 368.2 trillion as of 31 March 2026. “This further strengthens CIMB Niaga’s position as the second-largest national private bank in Indonesia,” she added. Meanwhile, third-party funds (DPK) increased to Rp 260.1 trillion, or 2.3 percent year-on-year growth. DPK growth was driven by low-cost funds or CASA increasing by 12.2 percent year-on-year to Rp 192.3 trillion. Thus, BNGA’s CASA ratio rose to 73.9 percent. In Islamic banking, CIMB Niaga’s Sharia Business Unit (UUS) (CIMB Niaga Syariah) recorded total financing of Rp 52.9 trillion and DPK of Rp 45.0 trillion as of 31 March 2026. Lani explained that CIMB Niaga Syariah continues to strengthen its funding structure by increasing low-cost funds through community networks and strategic sharia partnerships. “To support sustainable growth while expanding the development of the national sharia financial ecosystem,” she concluded.
