CIMAHI — Cimahi Police destroyed thousands of bottles of illicit spirits, aftermarket motorcycle exhausts (knalpot brong), and various narcotics ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijrah. The destruction operation took place at Cimahi Police Headquarters on Jalan Amir Machmud in Cimahi City, West Java, on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

The confiscated items destroyed included 3,352 bottles of illicit spirits of various brands, 1,065 aftermarket exhausts, 251.481 grams of methamphetamine, 43 packages of cannabis totalling 47.389 grams, 10,763 hexamine tablets (restricted heavy medications), 787 tramadol tablets, 632 double Y tablets, and 442 trihexyphenidyl tablets.

“We are conducting this destruction operation as a demonstration of our commitment. The National Police, Military, and relevant government stakeholders are united in combating societal problems of this nature,” said Cimahi Police Chief AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra.

Niko stated that the diverse confiscated items were obtained through enforcement and investigation operations conducted by Cimahi Police and 13 police sectors across Cimahi City, West Bandung Regency, and Margaasih. The destruction was carried out using various methods tailored to each substance type.

Methamphetamine and restricted medications were processed through a blender until powdered. Cannabis was burned in a drum until completely reduced to ash. Illicit spirits were crushed using heavy machinery. The aftermarket exhausts were cut using machinery and buried, with remaining materials being assembled into a tiger statue.

The police chief also appealed to residents planning to travel for Eid to register with their neighbourhood leaders to facilitate oversight of empty homes. Cimahi Police will deploy community liaison officers to monitor residential areas, with dedicated patrols to prevent criminal activity during the holiday season.

“We will deploy enforcement task forces for patrol operations as a preventative measure against societal problems. This represents our continued commitment to combating such offences,” Niko said. Additionally, personnel will be stationed during the Takbir celebrations on the night before Eid to anticipate potential criminal activity during the festivities.
