Cimahi Municipality Ensures Food Stock Security Ahead of Eid, Prepares Measures to Prevent Price Volatility
Cimahi — Cimahi’s Deputy Mayor Adhitia Yudisthira has guaranteed the availability of sufficient food commodities to meet the needs of residents through Eid al-Fitr 2026. Cimahi continues to rely on food supplies from other regions.
“We ensure that our stock is secure, including heading into Eid al-Fitr. We continue to monitor to ensure there is no shortage,” said Adhitia when confirmed on Saturday, 7 March 2026.
Additionally, he assured that there has been no price volatility in the market thus far. The Cimahi municipal government has also urged traders not to sell food commodities above the maximum retail price (HET) and the reference prices set by the government.
“Specifically for goods regulated and with an HET, we urge compliance — do not sell commodities above the set HET. Monitoring continues and conditions remain stable,” stated Adhitia.
The Cimahi municipal government, he continued, has prepared and is implementing several programmes aimed at maintaining price and inflation stability. These include the Cheap Food Movement (GPM), which provides various food commodities at below-market prices.
Additionally, there is Sibesti, short for “Siapkan Beras untuk Masyarakat” (Rice Preparation for Communities). The Sibesti programme, which aims to support low-income communities, provides packages of rice and cooking oil at affordable prices. There are also bazaars that are typically held fortnightly at the forecourt of Building B of the Cimahi municipal office.
“Of course, this is to maintain food price and inflation stability. Besides, it is also to ease the burden on communities. Hopefully, market prices remain stable during Ramadan this month,” said Adhitia.
