Cilandak Padel Management Awaiting Clarity on Regulations in Commercial Zones
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The management of Fourthwall Padel Cilandak, South Jakarta, is awaiting clarity on the implementation of regulations from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for businesses located in commercial zones.
“The current issue is that we are said to be located in a residential area, but that is not entirely accurate. Our padel court is indeed located in a commercial zone,” said a representative of the Fourthwall Padel Cilandak management, Fajar Edi Putra, to reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Fajar stated that the location of the court is in a commercial zone, not purely in a residential area. However, he acknowledged that there are residential houses next to the zone, so they still respect the presence of local residents.
Regarding the direction from the Governor of DKI Jakarta regarding the restriction of operating hours until 8:00 PM for padel courts in residential zones, Fajar said that they will comply with the applicable regulations.
“If I quote from the Governor, it is until 8:00 PM, and that is for padel courts located in residential zones,” he said.
He said that the management will review the applicable regulations before resuming operations.
“For the padel court, we already have the necessary business permits. However, the PBG (Building Permit) has actually been submitted since last August,” he said.
However, until now, the PBG has not been issued, and the management said they will re-check the process with the company’s legal department.
The court temporarily suspended operations on Saturday (February 21) to complete the installation of soundproofing.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government recorded that 185 out of 397 padel courts in the capital do not have a Building Permit (PBG).
In addition, the DKI Provincial Government also prohibits the construction of padel courts in the middle of residential areas. For padel courts located in residential areas but already have permits, Pramono finally decided to limit operating hours to a maximum of 8:00 PM.
This is done as a solution so that residents do not feel disturbed by the noise from the padel court.
