CIFTIS 2026 Deepens Consensus on Global Services Cooperation
Beijing (ANTARA) - The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2026, held in Beijing, China, from 9–13 September, has deepened the consensus to strengthen cooperation within the services sector.
“Beneficial results were achieved during the exhibition, which included the organisation of nearly 100 conferences and forums, as well as over 100 business matchmaking and promotion activities,” said Zhu Guangyao, an official from China’s Ministry of Commerce, during a press conference following the event’s conclusion.
Zhu stated that the successful hosting of the event sends a clear signal to the world that China will unhesitatingly expand high-standard openness and promote high-quality development.
According to Lu Huiling, Deputy Head and spokesperson for the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, CIFTIS 2026 produced more than 1,200 achievements across seven categories, effectively driving resource matching, exchange, and cooperation.
“As the country of honour, Norway signed six cooperation agreements with various Chinese companies and institutions,” said Lu.
Lu noted that this year’s exhibition has become increasingly popular, with a continuous rise in visitor numbers at Shougang Park, the event’s venue. As of Sunday (13/9) afternoon local time, the main CIFTIS area had received nearly 420,000 visits, representing a 36.6 per cent increase year-on-year.
Under the theme “Global Services, Shared Prosperity”, the event was attended by more than 1,800 companies showcasing products and services directly, including over 470 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders.
The exhibition featured various new technologies, solutions, and achievements in trade in services, including information and communications, financial technology, digital and intelligent healthcare, smart education, as well as energy conservation and environmental protection.
According to Zhu, China will continue to deepen international cooperation in trade in services, innovate cooperation models, expand areas of cooperation, explore potential for collaboration, align with the development strategies and cooperation initiatives of various countries, and utilise major exhibition platforms like CINTFIS as a bridge to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between nations.
“We warmly welcome service companies from all over the world to explore the Chinese market and share the opportunities offered by the vast Chinese market,” said Zhu.
Trade in services, an essential component of international trade, plays an increasingly vital role in driving global economic growth and industrial advancement. According to guest speakers at the exhibition, the services sector is becoming an inseparable part of the global supply chain, supporting not only production activities but also design, management, logistics, and distribution.
According to the President of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, who also serves as the Chairperson of the African Union, CIFTIS, as one of the world’s largest trade in services platforms, embodies the vision of openness, cooperation, and shared development.
“By bringing together governments, international organisations, and investors, the exhibition provides a unique opportunity for exchange, sharing experiences, and creating various opportunities,” he stated.
