CIBA gets FDA approval
ATLANTA (Reuter): CIBA Vision said that its new contact lens
plant in Batam, Indonesia, had received pre-market approval from
the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The plant is the first manufacturing site in Indonesia to get
FDA approval.
"We are very pleased to receive FDA approval in Indonesia,"
said Dr. C. Glen Bradley, chief executive of the CIBA Vision
Group.
The plant employs more than 500 people in the production of
disposable and frequent replacement contact lenses for worldwide
distribution. It is one of CIBA Vision's primary global
manufacturing sites.
