Cianjur District’s Education, Youth and Sports Office in West Java has identified approximately 1,500 educators required to return supplementary income allowances (tamsil) to the district government following the disbursement of Teacher Professional Allowances (TPG). This action follows an overpayment resulting from dual budgeting by the central government and interim district funding in the previous fiscal year.

Ruhli Solehudin, head of the District Education, Youth and Sports Office (Disdikpora), stated that Teacher Professional Education (PPG) allocations for periods 13 and 14 from data submitted in fiscal years 2024 and 2025 were re-budgeted, resulting in overpayment. Since TPG disbursement from the central government remained uncertain, Cianjur District continued distributing tamsil as recognition of teachers’ contributions in 2026. However, when central government funding eventually arrived, educators were required to return the supplementary allowances disbursed during the two-month interim period.

Prior to this, an agreement had been established stipulating that tamsil covered by central funds or district interim funding must be returned. Solehudin explained that individual teachers must refund approximately Rp240,000 per month, meaning the average teacher refund amounts to around Rp475,000 for the two-month period already received.

The refund requirement applies to both full-time and part-time PPPK status teachers, particularly those who received TPG disbursement in 2025. To date, 1,500 teachers have returned funds to the district government. The refunded amounts correspond to tamsil received in January and February 2025, whilst central government TPG payments were only processed in 2026.

Refunds must be made directly to the district government’s bank account and accompanied by a Payment Receipt Certificate (STS). A circular regarding this payment has been distributed to all educators required to make refunds. The district will only accept refunds submitted through official bank transfer with proof of the STS certificate, which educators can coordinate through their respective regional education coordinators. No alternative payment methods or third-party refunds are permitted without supporting STS documentation.
