Ciamis Regency Accelerates MSME Legalisation Through Online Business Registration
The Ciamis Regency Government continues to drive local economic transformation by intensifying its programme to legalise micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the accelerated issuance of Business Identification Numbers (NIB) online.
Through the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), the programme is being implemented as a follow-up to Ciamis Regent's Circular Letter Number 500.16.7.4/487/DPMPSTP.03/2025, dated 17 July 2025.
DPMPTSP Head Eka Permana Oktaviana said the circular implements the West Java Governor's policy on investment acceleration and the mandate of Government Regulation Number 28 of 2025 on Risk-Based Business Licensing.
"We are inviting all members of the public, particularly micro-business operators, home-based businesses, millennial farmers, and student entrepreneurs, to immediately obtain their NIB through OSS. This legal status will open up many opportunities, from banking access and government assistance programmes to national digital platforms," he said.
Eka explained that the public can now easily obtain an NIB through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, an integrated electronic licensing system accessible online by anyone, at any time, and from anywhere.
"This system simplifies what was previously a complicated bureaucratic process. MSME operators now only need a single OSS account to apply for and obtain an NIB, without having to visit multiple government offices," he said.
For those wishing to obtain an NIB independently, the steps through OSS are as follows: prepare supporting documents including National Identity Number (NIK), basic business information, and for corporate entities (PT/CV), articles of incorporation and tax identification number; access the official OSS website at oss.go.id; activate the OSS account; complete the business profile including name, type, operational location, and business sector according to the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI); submit the NIB application; and apply for additional permits if required, such as standard certificates, commercial or operational licences, and environmental or zoning permits.
"The NIB acceleration programme through OSS is not merely administrative — it is part of a major step in empowering the people's economy, expanding access to financing, and fostering community-based investment," Eka added.
Eka further stated that the Ciamis Regency Government is targeting an increase in the number of formal business operators across all sub-districts as a foundation for healthy and sustainable economic growth.
"This effort is also part of the local government's commitment to delivering public services that are fast, transparent, and supportive of small business operators," he affirmed.
According to Eka, this step is in line with the vision of Ciamis Regent Dr H. Herdiat Sunarya in creating governance that is service-oriented, adaptive to digital technology, and inclusive in rural economic development.
"By making it easier for the public to obtain an NIB, the Ciamis Regency Government is not only simplifying bureaucracy but also building a business ecosystem that is legal, competitive, and oriented towards long-term growth," he concluded.
