The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has suspended the odd-even number plate traffic restriction for the two-day Chinese New Year (Imlek) 2026 holiday on 16 and 17 February.

“In conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2577 Kongzili, the implementation of the Odd-Even system on various road sections in Jakarta is SUSPENDED,” quoted from the Instagram account of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency @dishubdkijakarta on Monday, 16 February 2026.

The suspension of Jakarta’s odd-even rule on 16-17 February 2026 is based on the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Number 1497 of 2025, Number 2 of 2025, and Number 5 of 2025 concerning National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2026.

It also refers to DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 88 of 2019, Article 3 paragraph (3), which stipulates that the odd-even system is not enforced on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays designated by Presidential Decree.

Consequently, vehicles with both odd and even number plates are free to travel on road sections normally affected by the policy during these two days.

Although the odd-even restriction has been suspended, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency continues to urge the public to observe orderly traffic conduct during the Chinese New Year 2026 holiday period. Residents are also reminded to prioritise safety and comply with traffic signs to ensure smooth travel during the celebrations.
