| Source: TEMPO
TEMPO Interactive, Lumajang:Chinese investors, represented by PT Indo Modern Mining, based in Jember, have almost completed exploring ferruginous sand in an 8.000-hectare area in the Yosowilangun and Kunir sub districts of Lumajang. “The process has been going since July 2008,” Lumajang regency chief in charge of Economy, Nurul Huda told Tempo yesterday.

The exploration process covers studies and research on the potential of ferruginous sand, whose iron content can reach up to 30 – 40 percent. When the exploration stage has met the requirements, an operating license for exploitation will be issued. Lumajang regency reportedly has the biggest ferruginous sand resource in Indonesia.
