Chinese Investors Explore Potential of Ferruginous Sand in Lumajang
TEMPO Interactive, Lumajang:Chinese investors, represented by PT Indo Modern Mining, based in Jember, have almost completed exploring ferruginous sand in an 8.000-hectare area in the Yosowilangun and Kunir sub districts of Lumajang. “The process has been going since July 2008,” Lumajang regency chief in charge of Economy, Nurul Huda told Tempo yesterday.

I wish the fucking journalists would get it right Clumsy reporting indeed. Total reserves at Maruwai were not vast though. According to BHP's 2008 annual report, total resource for Maruwai was about 130 million metric tonnes.

E. Java to develop seven industrial sectors in Madura
The East Java Capital Investment Board (BPM) plans to develop seven industrial sectors on Madura Island when the Suramadu bridge, which will connect it to Surabaya, is opened on June 10, The Jakarta Post reported. "We see good prospects for the seven sectors. Therefore, we hope that both foreign and domestic investors will be interested in investing their capital in Madura. It, of course, will boost economic growth on the island," East Java BPM chairman Hary Soegiri said Thursday in Surabaya.
