JAKARTA (JP): A consortium of Chinese and Hong Kong companies
has been exploring possibilities of investing in granite mining
in Central Sulawesi, a provincial official said.
Said Awad, head of the Central Sulawesi provincial
administration's Economic Bureau, said the consortium had already
obtained complete data on granite deposits in the province and
now only needed to decide the times to begin exploration and
production activities.
Central Sulawesi Governor Paliudju said he was ready to help
the would-be investors to explore the province's natural
resources.
"We are even prepared to help them get electricity and
transportation facilities," Paliudju was quoted by Antara as
saying.
Granite deposits in Central Sulawesi are to be found in the
province's western coastal regions including Donggala and Buol
Toli-Toli districts.
