Chinese airlines raise domestic fuel surcharge fees
Beijing (ANTARA) - Several Chinese airlines, including Air China, China Southern Airlines, and Xiamen Airlines, have announced plans to raise the fuel surcharge for domestic routes on tickets sold starting from 16 May. For routes of 800 kilometres or less, the fuel surcharge is set at 90 yuan (1 yuan = Rp2,577) or approximately 13.16 US dollars (1 US dollar = Rp17,514) per flight segment, while routes exceeding 800 kilometres will incur 170 yuan per segment. For domestic route tickets purchased on or before 15 May, any changes made after 16 May will not follow the new tariff standards. Currently, Chinese airlines charge a fuel surcharge of 60 yuan for domestic routes of 800 kilometres or less, and 120 yuan for those exceeding 800 kilometres.
