China, Korea dumping steel
WASHINGTON (Reuters): The U.S. International Trade Commission
has ruled that China, South Korea and other countries appear to
be dumping steel used to reinforce concrete on the United States,
but cleared Japan and Russia of the same charges.
In a report sent to the U.S. Commerce Department on Monday,
the trade agency found that China, South Korea as well as
Indonesia, Belarus and Latvia were selling steel concrete
reinforcing bars in the United States at below fair value.
As a result of the agency's findings, the Commerce Department
will continue its investigation into the alleged dumping and make
preliminary determinations by early December.
