Chicken snatcher mobbed to death

BOGOR, West Java: Rojali Ma'ruf, a resident of Waru Udik village, Parung, was beaten to death on Thursday night by a mob of villagers after he was caught red-handed stealing a chicken.

A local police officer told Antara that Rojali, when he realized that he was caught in the act by several villagers, tried to escape. Shouting villagers brought other residents out of their homes, who then chased and beat him to death.

His body is currently in the PMI Hospital morgue. The police are still investigating the case. (swe)
