Cheats misused Members names

JAKARTA: Legislator Suryadharma Ali, who chairs the House of
Representatives Commission V for trade, industry and
cooperatives, revealed on Thursday that his name had been misused
by an unidentified person to earn money.

He said that the criminal had pretended to be Suryadharma and
asked for money via phone calls to directors of state firms and
businessmen.

According to Suryadharma, at least seven businessmen had
contacted him for clarification before transferring money to bank
accounts as stated by the criminal.

However, some of the private associations transferred money
without clarification. They included the Association of
Indonesian Sugarcane Farmers (Rp 70 million) and the Indonesian
Sugar Association (Rp 3 million).

Earlier, chairman of Commission 1 for foreign and media
affairs Ibrahim Ambong also disclosed a similar crime. However,
