Cheats misused Members names<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Legislator Suryadharma Ali, who chairs the House of
\nRepresentatives Commission V for trade, industry and
\ncooperatives, revealed on Thursday that his name had been misused
\nby an unidentified person to earn money.<\/p>\n
He said that the criminal had pretended to be Suryadharma and
\nasked for money via phone calls to directors of state firms and
\nbusinessmen.<\/p>\n
According to Suryadharma, at least seven businessmen had
\ncontacted him for clarification before transferring money to bank
\naccounts as stated by the criminal.<\/p>\n
However, some of the private associations transferred money
\nwithout clarification. They included the Association of
\nIndonesian Sugarcane Farmers (Rp 70 million) and the Indonesian
\nSugar Association (Rp 3 million).<\/p>\n
Earlier, chairman of Commission 1 for foreign and media
\naffairs Ibrahim Ambong also disclosed a similar crime. However,
