Charoen Phokphand to build DOC industry in W Sumatra
Padang, West Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Agro-food company PT Charoen Phokphand has set itself the target of building a day-old-chick (DOC) industry in West Sumatra early next month at a cost of more than Rp75 billion, an official said.
"At least the company will begin the physical construction of the DOC industry in late 2007," head of the West Sumatra Husbandry Office Edwardi MM said here Friday.
So far West Sumatra had bought DOCs from neighboring provinces such as North Sumatra to meet demand from hundreds of poultry breeders, he said.
PT Charoen Pokphand is a world-class agro-food industry whose core businesses activities include animal feed manufacturing, chicken breeding, aquaculture farming and poultry processing.
